the (other) love of my life: italy.

Seven years ago (that long, really?) I went on the trip of a lifetime. Ten days in Italy… split between Venice, Verona, Florence, Assisi, Rome (& Vatican City) and Pompeii. It was heaven. (No really, I’m convinced that heaven consists of a never-ending vacation in Italy, just wait and see…) Being the photo-nut that I am I took along with me 22 rolls of film in a giant ziploc bag, and used every. single. one. For the last few years I have wanted to get my negatives scanned into digital copies and a couple weeks ago I finally did it! Putting the magical disc from Costco into my computer had me feeling like a kid on Christmas morning. Not actually doing the math, I thought there would be at least a thousand pictures to go through and it turned out to only be around 500. 500?! I went to the most magical place in the whole world and ONLY took 500 pictures?!?! Yes. I did. All I can say is that…

1. Now this means I must go back. YES!

2. Thank God for the digital age where I can take thousands and thousands of pictures without lugging around two, three…FOUR giant ziploc bags full of film! (Not to mention the quality of my film was SO much lower than even my measly 10.1MP Canon is now.)

But enough about that and on to the good stuff… the pictures! No, I won’t make you look through all 500 of them, just some of my favorites :)

(this is three different pictures patched together!)
